As reported by http://nj.com the first tunnel boring contract to drill the first new Hudson River rail tunnels in 115 years through the Palisades was awarded for $465 million by the Gateway Development Commission Thursday.

The contract was awarded to Schiavone, Dragados Lane Joint Venture, which was selected from five firms that competed for the contract.
