Palisades Interstate Park, NJ – Fish, food, fun, fresh air, and friends! What better way to spend
a spring Saturday than at Hooked on the Hudson in the Ross Dock Recreation Area (on the Hudson River under the GW Bridge) on April 18, from 9 AM to 3 PM, shine or rain.
A joint venture of the Palisades Interstate Park Commission and the Hudson River Fishermen’s Association, HOH creates awareness of the various activities and facilities in, on, and around the Hudson River and the park. Highlights include fishing and casting contests (with prizes) plus exhibits by sportsmen’s organizations and historic, environmental, and recreation groups. New this year is Henry Hudson’s Half-Moon Market featuring a variety of unique and beautiful items by local artists and crafters. Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase all day or bring your own picnic.
There is no cost except for metered parking beginning at 8 AM. Fishing licenses are not required for anyone. The HRFA will provide poles and bait for those needing them. Just throw your line in the water and wait for the big one to hit. All fish caught are tagged and released.
For those not fishing or shopping, take a hike along the Shore Trail (alone or with guides from the NY/NJ Trail Conference), or soak up the sun on the shore of the river.
To reach Ross Dock, take Henry Hudson Drive from its entrance on Hudson Terrace at the Fort Lee/Edgewater line to the first circle then go down the hill.
