Local families got into the Halloween spirit for a good cause this past Saturday, October 20 at the Fifth Annual 3k Spooky Stroll hosted by City Place. More than 700 registrants raised $1,900+ for the Holy Rosary Food Pantry in Edgewater along with countless non-perishable food items to stock the pantry for the fall/winter season. The event was sponsored by the Edgewater Education Association (EEA) and featured a DJ, face painting, trick-or-treating with the City Place retailers, exciting prizes, and more!

“The Edgewater Education Association is passionate about helping our neighbors in the community of Edgewater. To that end, we have run and funded the yearly EEA Spooky Stroll since 2014. This year we raised over $1900.00 for the Holy Rosary Food Pantry, and we have cumulatively raised over $8000.00,” shared Jennifer Barry, chairperson of the EEA Spooky Stroll. “It is so important that we all come together to help our neighbors in need. The EEA would not be able to run this event without the support of our local businesses and community groups. We are immensely thankful for their donations and participation on the day of the event.”

Walkers were welcomed back to the promenade after their stroll along the river with a live DJ set featuring spooky Halloween hits and special treats from the City Place retailers. All participants were entered into the raffle to win exciting prizes like 10-trip tickets from NY Waterway and gift cards from retailers including Carter’s, Charming Charlie, Cookie Cutters, Bareburger, Fleming’s Steakhouse, Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, and Izzy’s.
