The 2nd annual Madonna 5K is set for Saturday, Sep 30th!
The fast and flat 3.1 mile course is certified by USA Track and Field. Kids 0-5 years old are free and children ages 6-17 pay only $10 from now till race day!
Local businesses or organizations can sponsor this walk or run event, which had 300 participants last year, and many more spectators! Last year the Madonna 5K raised $9,000 for 12-year old Briana Lopez, a Fort Lee resident fighting cancer.
While this year’s M5K will benefit Madonna Church, the event will be collecting gift cards for school supplies, clothing and food for families who need help.
Former NY Giants Super Bowl Champion #JustinTuck and his wife Lauran are sponsoring the Madonna 5K as parishioners, and through their Tuck Family Foundation, will be collecting #giftcards for #schoolsupplies and #clothing for underprivileged families in Fort Lee.
“Education has always been the surest route to economic mobility in our country,” says Lauran Tuck. “We are passionate about closing the ‘opportunity gaps’ that exist in the education space.”
“We are happy to be working with the Madonna 5K to gather school supplies and other necessary items for families in need in our community,” Tuck added.
