Have you heard the news?! The area around North Hudson Park in North Bergen, perhaps the last holdout of relatively undeveloped space in Hudson County, is not destined to stay that way for long.
Multiple projects are in the pipeline that could add new apartments and new residents, both on the eastern side of park near the Hudson River and on the western side, further inland.
On Nov. 11, the North Bergen Board of Commissioners approved a redevelopment study of three properties along Bergenline Avenue on the west side of the park, which if approved could potentially make them eligible for eminent domain. The properties – presently a dilapidated building of condominiums, a bicycle shop and a parking lot – could become an 11-story apartment building.
