Hudson County has anxiously awaited the opening of Shake Shack – which was originally announced to happen in 2020. Shake Shack has recently announced that the opening will take place in the second week of April. Located at 111 Washington Street, work has begun on the building and new signage has been spotted.
Shake Shack’s arrival to downtown Hoboken has been a long time coming. In 2017, there was talk of Shake Shack being built on three vacant lots next to Walgreens on 1st and Washinton, but according to Nastasi Architects, the deal fell through.
From December 4 – 6, Shake Shack opened a pop-up location in Jersey City and offered delivery to Hoboken, which only aided in the excitement for a permanent local location.
