The Fund for a Better Waterfront (FBW) is inviting Hoboken residents and visitors to lace up their walking shoes for Jane’s Walk Hoboken, a free guided walking tour taking place on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 10:30 a.m.

Led by FBW Executive Director Ron Hine, the one-mile tour explores Hoboken through the lens of legendary urban activist Jane Jacobs, whose landmark book The Death and Life of Great American Cities championed walkable, mixed-use neighborhoods — a description that fits Hoboken remarkably well.
The walk will begin at the south end of town and make its way up Hoboken’s South Waterfront, examining both the successes and shortcomings of the city’s urban development over the decades. The tour will wrap up at Cork City on 3rd & Bloomfield for a social gathering.
Jane’s Walk is a global celebration of Jane Jacobs’ legacy, held each year from May 1–3 across more than 500 communities worldwide.
